My friend recently got the cutest baby kitten and I wanted to experiment making tiny accessories for him.

These are elastic and meant more for photo shoots as they do not have break away mechanism.

Material Needed:

- Sewing needle

- Sewing thread to match

- Elastic band

- Cloth (I used 100% cotton)

1. Cut 3 rectangles

(A) Neck piece 23cm x 5cm

(B) Bow body 10cm x 7.5cm

(C) Bow strap 2.5cm x 5cm

This can be adjusted according to the circumference of your cat's neck and size of bow.

2. Fold (A) length-wise wrong side together. Stitch along the top seam.

3. Using a stick, turn it inside out. String the elastic through with a safety pin.

4. Sew the ends of the elastic together.

5. Fold the ends of (A) inwards. Overlap the two pieces (one end inside the other) and sew close with an overcast stitch.

6. For thebow, take (B) and fold down a small edge on each side lengthwise. Fold the ends one-thirds in and sew the ends closed using a blanket stitch.

7. Run a running stitch through the middle of (B) and pull tight! It should pucker up.

8. Taking (C), fold the edges in lengthwise. Wrap around (B) and sew ends down using an overcast stitch. Your bow is complete!

9. Sew both sides of the bow onto (A).

Andddd it is done!

I feel like a bolder blue or bright orange embroidery thread for the blanket stitch might make it pop more? Fingers crossed this fits!
